The 21th HK Film Award Presentation will be held on April 21st. On yesterday's press conference, all the nominations were announced. Sammi was nominated as the "Best Actress" along with the other two, Anita Mui and Sylvia Cheung. But the most surprising thing which shock everyone was Sammi had 3 movies nominated, "Wu Yen", "Fighting for Love" and "Love on a diet". No actress ever have 3 movies nominated, only one actor did which is Chow Yun Fat on the year 1988. Sammi really broke the record with the outstanding nominations. Sammi's song "Forever Beauty" also nominated as the "Best Original Movie Theme Song". Sammi who is currently working in Taiwan and received her nomination news. Sammi said she is very happy and excited about it. She never imagine there are 3 movies nominated her as the best actress, she worry the judges have different opinion on the 3 movies which will separate their votes on each movie. Sammi feels a lot of stress right now. Sammi said she pay a lot of efforts in all 3 of the movies, but she personally like "Love on a diet" because she work so hard on it, not because the make up that's hard, it is how to express and act as a fat person. Sammi feels her acting aren't good as Anita and Sylvia, but she is very good luck for all those nominations. Sylvia Cheung also praised Sammi as the second Maggie Cheung. The 3 nominated directors, Johnnie To, Kwan Jing Pang and Hui On Wah all look upon Sammi in winning the best actress award. Sammi said she will attend the ceremony.

In the 8th HK Movie Critics Society Award Presentation which was held yesterday, Sammi received the "Best Actress" award for the movie Wu Yen. Chen Bo Chu was the award guest who hand the award to Sammi and she praised Sammi for her acting skills. Ms. Bo Chu said Sammi acted very natural and very modern, she said sometimes they eat together and she find Sammi is a very kind and humorous person. Sammi was very happy for Ms. Bo Chu's compliments. Sammi said even through they aren't always hang out, but they do talk on the phone sometimes. Sammi said "I feel that Ms. Bo Chu treat me specially good, I'm very happy." Sammi felt very surprise for this best actress award, because she doesn't have much experience, officially shoot movies only had 2 years; and this award is graded by professional movie critics and they all picked Sammi, which gave Sammi a very strong feeling of this award. When asked how Sammi celebrate, Sammi said she work everyday, no time for celebration, but she will share the award happiness and proudness with her family.

Sammi's new mandarin album called "Sheh Tak" will be release on March 12th. The album's theme song "Flawless" (Tin Ye Mo Fung)  is a dancing song style which is similar to the previous song "Unique" and "Ecstatic". The song "Flawless" is originally sang by a Korean singer. Sammi went to Taiwan for 4 days last week and filmed five MTVs. Yesterday, Sammi came back to HK. On March 5th, Sammi will promote her album in Taiwan. In the MTV, Sammi specially created her only dancing steps, her own gestures and signs for the fast dancing song. Warner Music also paid $2,500,000 to rent the 3 shooting places for the MTVs. They build a Roman castle scenes and they will use a lot of computer effects to make the MTV that will give a vision of out of space effects. In this album, there are many different style of songs. It included, "Sheh Tak" a romantic love slow song; "Flawless" a Korean dance song; "Try again" a med. fast R&B song; "Say Clearly" a Rap style song; "I understand" a guitar with folk ballad style; and "808" a dance song. This is the first time that Sammi sing R&B and Rap songs.

In the 7th Golden Bauhinia Award Ceremony which will held on March 17th. Sammi had nominated for the "Best Actress" award in the movie Love on a Diet. Andy Lau also nominated as the best actor in that movie too. Sammi said she is very happy for the nomination, because it gave her a very big courage. The ceremony held on the date that Sammi is having her Singapore/Malaysia world tour concert, but Sammi decide to come back to HK for one day to attend the ceremony. Want to know what Sammi did during new year? Well, Sammi took few days off and she stayed in HK to celebrate new year with her family. Sammi took her dad out of the hospital for few days and bring him back home to spend the new year together. Sammi said all her family, even her sister who married bring her kids back home and have a new year party together. There were about twenty people in the house, it's very crowned and they all have fun. Sammi felt specially happy in this new year, because in the past years, she work during new year and there are not many chance for her to celebrate with her family. 

Recently, Teresa Tang's charity organization prepared a stage drama about Teresa Tang on July, this year. After many Teresa's fans voted, Sammi and Faye Wong had been selected to act as Teresa in the drama. Sammi's manager did admit that Teresa's brother contacted Sammi in few months ago, they show much interest inviting Sammi to act in the drama. But Sammi had too much works to do, she had movies, commercials, albums and world tour concerts this year, there are no time left for the drama. Besides, Sammi had no experience on acting in a drama on stage, therefore, Sammi didn't accept the offer. So, the biggest chance for the person who act as Teresa in the drama will be Faye Wong.

On 2-7-2002, it was the premier of "Marry A Rich Man" in China. There are very crowned in the premier. It attracted over a hundred of HK and China reporters and about 200 fans waiting outside the theater before the premier beings. Reporters asked about Sammi's movie is competing with Andy Lau's movie "Lek-Ku Lek-Ku New Year Fortune". Andy Lau said he had confidence that he will win. Sammi said "I think as an actor/actress, as long as we do our best, that's enough. I think Andy Lau doesn't mean it that way, even if I lose to Master, Johnnie To, it's ok, who won number one or two doesn't really matter to me, the best thing is 3 movies be successful, I will watch the other 2 movies." Reporters asked if Sammi want to marry a rich man, then Andy Hui needs to earn a lot of money, Sammi laughed and said "ha...ha....ha...ha...I'm not answering, bye-bye!" On Chinese New Year, Sammi will stay in HK, because she doesn't need to work. Sammi said she would like to go to Paris on Valentine's day, because she never had a chance to walk around in Paris. Yesterday was the movie "Marry A Rich Man" premier. Sammi and Richie Ren both dress up to attend the premier. At the start of the premier, all the guests and the audiences were playing games and giving out presents. There are 3 HK movies showing on new year, they are competing with each other. All three movies had casts that are very attractive. It included Sammi's movie "Marry A Rich Man" which shooting take place at Italy and Sammi use the reason of not working with Richie Ren anymore to attract the audiences' tension. Another movie is "Lek-Ku Lek-Ku New Year Fortune", starring Andy Lau, GiGi Leung, Louise Koo and Lau Ching Wan. It's attractive because the movie is abut Andy Lau play mahjong to earn money and help the poor people. The last movie is "Chinese Odyssey 2002", starring Faye Wong, Tony Leung and Vicki Zhao. Their cast is attractive because Vicki, Faye Wong and the most popular actor, Tony was in it. Sammi said all three movies are good. She said "I didn't have any stress, I already do my best, I will be natural, it's the medias who said I have box office warranty, I never consider it, a movie's success is the whole movie crew's work, not just me." When reporters said Sammi and Faye are competing with each other from singing career to now, the movie career. Sammi replied, "this is just the medias' descriptive words, I have no interest in competing in these areas. I hope the audience will come to watch my movie la, good or not good doesn't matter, as long as they will come into the theater. Chinese Odyssey 2002's cast is very attractive, even I will go watch it, and the movie Lek-Ku Lek-Ku New Year Fortune, if I'm not watching it, Johnnie To (Needing You's director) will kill me." Also, Sammi wish to work with Lau Ching Wan, because she think he's very good in acting. If they work together, Sammi said she will have a lot of stress.

Sammi was absent from the 2-2-2002 MTV Asia Award Ceremony which held in Singapore. The reason for Sammi's absence was because Sammi had a stomach cramp, she went to the hospital to see the doctor. The doctor said the cause of it, is Sammi had too much stress from work. Sammi was happy that she won an award and she feel bad that she couldn't attend. Yesterday, Sammi and Richie Ren was promoting their upcoming movie "Marry to a Rich Man" in a HK big shopping center. Sammi was still sick, but she still play games with the fans. Sammi said she likes cute guys. So the reporters asked if she think Andy Hui was cute, Sammi said, "just kidding, I think passion guys are better." When asked what's her ideal husband's standards, Sammi said, "I didn't set any standards for my husband, the most important thing is he's a guy, even he's shorter than me, I don't really cares." When asked when will she be marry, Sammi said, "didn't think about it, just be natural, maybe I will never marry." Sammi also said when she was young, she wanted to marry to a English guy, because she thought they look good, but she find out it's hard to communicate with them, so she never think about it anymore.

January 2002

Sammi's album "Tender" second version released today. It added two new songs which is "Exchange Tender" with GiGi Leung sing the rap part and "Glass Shoe",  the new movie Married to a Rich Person's theme song. It also included a VCD with "Exchange Tender" and "Parachute" MTVs. Besides, it also gives Sammi's Max Factor commercial trial lipstick packet. The album is definitely worth to buy.

Yesterday, on 7:00 p.m., Sammi went to the studio for recording, Then on 10:00 p.m., Sammi went to barbecue in the park with all the Warner Music staffs for celebrating all the awards that Sammi won on the RTHK ceremony. Sammi didn't put on any make-up and she dressed very casual. So, no one in the barbecue park notice that it was Sammi. Sammi was in a very good mood. When some people was listening to Andy Hui's songs, Sammi even sing along with it and she laugh too. When Sammi finally noticed that there were reporters, Sammi gave some Pepsi to them. Sammi was very happy that night and she enjoyed 4 hours of barbecued.

On the RTHK Award Ceremony, Sammi won an outstanding of 5 awards. Included "Top Ten Song - Forever Beauty", "Nation's Most Popular Female Singer - Silver" , "Year's Top Album Sales Singer" , "Most Popular Duet Song - Love is...." , and "One of the fifteen best singer". The host called Sammi and Kelly to the stage to announce the last Top Ten Song Award, which Miriam Yeung got it. When Sammi and Kelly were on the stage, the host asked about Sammi got hit by Kelly fans news. Sammi said she didn't get hit and Sammi told her fans to support her and also Kelly too. Kelly said she hope fans can support their idols in a correct way and don't argue with each other. 

The IFPI Top Album Sales Award Ceremony was held on 1-16-2002. Sammi and Leon Lai won the HK's Top Album Sales Female/Male Singer in the year 2001. Besides, Sammi also won 3 more awards, included The Top Ten Cantonese Albums "Forever Beauty" and "Shocking Pink", and The Top Ten Mandarin Album "Complete". Sammi won total of 4 awards which become the champion of getting the most awards in the IFPI Award Ceremony. Sammi was very happy and she smiled the whole time. Sammi denied the news about Kelly fans hit her head after the JSG award ceremony. Kelly also said Sammi fans didn't hit her either. Sammi and Kelly seem to be very friend with each other. They talk and smile with each other. They didn't feel embarrass with each other by the fans argument news. Since they agree those news are make up and exaggerated by the reporters.

Yesterday, Anita Mui, Sammi, Andy Hui along with their manager, Wallace Kwok, Paco Wong and other friends went to a party in the bar to celebrate of getting the Most Popular Female/Male awards. Everyone get very high in the party. They were in the party for the whole night. Until 7 o'clock in the morning, Sammi came out ready to go home, she looked little drunk, mostly because she was high and drink few cups of alcohol. Andy Hui and Wallace (Sammi's manager) bring Sammi home and they walk with Sammi into her house together. But reporters only saw Wallace come back down, they didn't see Andy Hui. So, they suspect that Andy Hui probably because of too tire from the whole night partying, so he stayed in Sammi's house. When reporters ask him today if he really did stay in Sammi's house or not. He wouldn't say anything about it, he just make up some nonsense things to say.

After the ceremony, Sammi needed to take the bus to the restaurant for the celebration party. Many Sammi fans and Kelly Chen fans were waiting outside for their idols. They get so exciting for their idols getting awards. They all carrying banners and big flyers and waving it. But there are arguments going on between Sammi fans and Kelly fans. They were yelling at each other. All the singers don't know what's going on outside. When Sammi came out, so many fans rush up and surrounded Sammi. Lucky Sammi did get out from that mess. Sammi fans and Kelly fans were pushing each other. Sammi said, she hope fans can be kind to each other and don't fight with one another.

On yesterday's Jade Solid Gold Ceremony. Sammi won 2 awards, "The Top Ten Song" and "Most Popular Female Singer". In Sammi's thank you speech, Sammi said last time she won this award was 3 years ago, in these 3 years, awards let her realized, it can give a singer a lot of push forces. Sammi was very happy and she thanks Warner Music, her family, fans, Frankie Lee (her previous manager), Paco and Gordon. Then, Sammi sang her new song "Parachute". Sammi didn't cry when she get this award, but she cried for Andy Hui. It's because the odd result which no one expect it, Andy Hui won the "Most Popular Male Singer" award. Andy Hui never imagine it, he can't stop crying on the stage. Andy waited 15 years for this award. He said he must thanks this person  who told him something in few years ago in the kitchen. Andy said this person (refers to Sammi) told him to work hard and trust yourself, one day they can won the "Most Popular Male/Female Singer" together. Andy's words are very touched. Sammi watching Andy won that award, she cried nonstop, her tears are dropping so hard. Sammi can't even control it, so she run to backstage to come down her feelings. The scene was hilarious, it was both happy, exciting, surprise and touched. Even the singers who are sitting down watching Andy crying nonstop on the stage, they stand up and cheer for him. Other unrelated news, Jacky Chan will release an album soon, he invited Sammi to sing a duet with him.

TVB's JSG Award Ceremony will be held on this Sunday, Jan. 13th. There are many predictions by the reporters of who is going to get some big awards such as, "Most Popular Female/Male Singer" , "The Top One Golden Song" and "Asia's Most Popular Female/Male Singer". There is also an online betting on the award results. Many people bet Sammi will get "Most Popular Female Singer" award. But according to the newspaper, Kelly will get that award, because Sammi have a terrible relationship with TVB. Last year, Sammi only won one award from JSG. Sammi even said she didn't give too much of hope for that award. Anyway, just wish Sammi will get it! Other thing, there is a survey from the city college of HK of 833 teenagers from age 12 to 19 voted on the person they admired the most. The ironic result turns out that mom and dad are not number one, the singers were on the top five position. 1st-Kelly, 2nd-Nicholas Tse, 3rd-Eason Chen, 4th-Sammi, 5th-Joey Yung.

Sammi and GiGi became good friends from the movie "Feel 100%". So, Sammi appeared in GiGi's concert yesterday as a special guest. Sammi sang "Forever Beauty" with GiGi and then Sammi sang the song which GiGi wrote "Parachute". Sammi prepared a funny present for GiGi, it was a big bag of Chinese noodles (it refers to the nickname of GiGi's boyfriend, Ekin Cheng). Sammi is such a joke player. When Sammi went up to the stage, she gave a big hug to GiGi. Then, Sammi joked around said, lucky that nothing happens (suggested they didn't touch each other's chests) Sammi then quickly get the big bag of noodles to GiGi. Sammi joked said, she walked so far to find this big bag of noodles and she asked, did GiGi like it or not. GiGi didn't feel embarrass at all, instead, she said you really know my mind, I really like it. When GiGi needed to go backstage change, Sammi told GiGi quickly go back to cook her noodles. Today is the Pepsi press conference, they announced Sammi is the new representative to promote for Pepsi, the contract is 2 years. Pepsi gives a blue crystal heart to Sammi. Reporters asked Sammi is this commercial gave the highest remuneration. Sammi said she don't know how much, because her manager takes care of that. But she is satisfy with every commercial's remuneration. When asked is it take over from Kelly. Sammi said don't use the word take over, because 2 years later, there will be another star promote for Pepsi. Sammi hope she can be success in promoting for Pepsi like the previous representatives such as: Leslie Cheung, Andy Lau, Kelly and Faye. This is the first time Sammi promote for drinks. She said she will drink diet Pepsi and she will put a lot of Pepsi and diet Pepsi at home. So her friends come over and her family can drink it. When asked will she always wear blue. Sammi said it depends on what kind of situation.

Sammi was the only female star are consider as the 2001's Top 5 Highest Salary Star. The 1st one is Jackie Chan, 2nd is Jet Lee, 3rd is Andy Lau, 4th is Stephen Chow and the 5th is Sammi. From the movie "Needing You", Sammi's popularity increased so quick. From a low movie remuneration of $600,000 raised up to $4,500,000. The movies "Wu Yen", "Fighting for Love", "Love on a Diet" and "Married to a Rich Person" earned a total remuneration about $14,000,000. 12 shows concert earned about $8,000,000. Released over ten albums earned about $15,000,000. Plus the commercial salary of $11,000,000. Sammi's total salary of 2001 is about $50,000,000, which is the highest salary female star.

On the 2001 Commercial Radio Award Ceremony which held on New Year, January 1st. Sammi won 3 awards, included "The Top Ten Song Award", "Gold award-Best Female Singer", and "The most favorite female singer". Sammi never expected to get so many awards. When Sammi received the gold award of the best female singer, she said, this is the first time she get the gold award, many singers said it is very hard to get. She waited for 12 years, now she finally got it. She don't want to cry today because it's a very happy day and it's new year. She will give the award to her dad, hoping he will be insistent and never give up. When Sammi received another award "the most favorite female singer", Sammi was very surprised. Sammi said, wow! thanks a lot, never think it will be a double, movies really helped a lot. Andy Hui won the silver award of the best male singer, his assistant went up to the stage to hand him the award. They give a hug to each other and Andy cried. Andy said to his assistant, even he can't get the gold award, but no matter he is number one or number two, in his assistant's heart, Andy always is the number one. Sammi cried when she hear Andy's speech. In this award ceremony, most of the singers cried when they received the award. It included Nicholas Tse, Nicola Cheung, Joey Yung, Miriam Yeung, Twins and Eason Chen.

Reporters received an invitation card from Pepsi Company to attend the January 3rd press conference. On the card, there is a picture with all star's eyes that are representatives of Pepsi. Reporters recognized one of them is Sammi, but Sammi's manager wouldn't say anything about it. It will be a surprise. Since Kelly Chen's contact already expired with Pepsi, there are big chance that Sammi will be taken over the commercial and be the next representative to promote for Pepsi.

At the 2001 Metro Radio 997 Award ceremony, Sammi received 3 and a half awards. Included "World's Metro Hit Female Singer", "Metro Hit Female Singer", "Hit Song-Forever Beauty", and "Hit Song-Love is.... with LMF". The biggest female winner in this ceremony was Sammi who won 3.5 awards and beated her greatest rival, Kelly Chen(3 awards). The biggest male singer was Andy Lau who won 5 awards. On the ceremony, Sammi sat with Nicholas Tse, they were often talking to each other. when Sammi and Andy Hui were on the stage, they were also very happy to chat with each other and they smile too.

At the JSG 4th quarter ceremony, Sammi won an award for the song "Exchange Tender". When Sammi was singing the song, something weird happened. Sammi sang the wrong lyrics. Sammi explained that she totally forgot the lyrics, her mind just suddenly went blank, she didn't even know why. Reporters also asked how she feel about all those award ceremonies coming up. Sammi said she will use normal feel to face it. She will not hope for any awards, because every time she wish for it, she will never get it. But every time she didn't expect it, she won it. So she will not worry about it anymore.
